Millstone

Hayley Giannella, 6, Sammy Holland, 7, and Alexa Giannella, 6, try their luck at the Millstone fishing derby, held at Black Bear Lake Day Camp.

Although it is one of the fastest growing residential communities in Monmouth County, Millstone is intent on preserving not only its rural character, but open space.

Alongside the construction of many upscale housing developments, many acres of open space have been preserved for residents to enjoy in the future. The township, which proudly bills itself as an environmentally concerned community, boasts acres of farmland and horse farms.

The local school system includes one elementary school for kindergarten to grade four and one middle school for grades five to eight.
