Lakewood is a town whose benefits are as diverse as its people. Lakewood features a Victorian downtown shopping district, suburban homes, many parks and recreation facilities, numerous churches and synagogues, and many public and private schools. It is also the home of Kimball Medical Center, a municipal airport and numerous adult communities.
Lakewood is known as a "melting pot" because of the many cultures found here. The diversity includes European, Jewish, African-American, Hispanic and Asian peoples. The township stands proud and fosters a community of racial harmony.
